Dr. Chieu D. Nguyen is a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia with a B.S. degree in Chemistry & Mathematics. He then completed graduate study and received a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University. Dr. Nguyen also received another M.S. degree in Chemistry at Southern Illinois University with the graduate research in Natural Killer cells. He obtained his medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, TX. Dr. Nguyen completed his General Surgery residency training at Fairview / Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He received further training Cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.
He continued his clinical education as Clinical Instructor / Fellow in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN and Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. Dr. Nguyen is a Board Certified Surgeon by the American Board of Surgery.
He is also an active member of the Texas Medical Association and The Harris County Medical Society.
